Thrive Flower Show at
St Mary's Garden on Friday 23 July 2004:

www.thrive.org.uk is a national charity which uses
gardening and horticulture to promote physical and mental well-being. It's Hackney project, St Mary's garden, is a tranquil green space in Shoreditch used by a wide cross-section of the local community (and a lot of wildlife!).

Once a year, Thrive's users get together with other similar projects to display flowers and produce that they've grown in a celebration of their work. More than just a flower show, this is a day for everyone - music, food, massage... Entrance is free, so come along and sample a wheel-barrow full of good music and summer horticulturalnessness.

This year, the show is a part of the Shoreditch Festival (July 23 till August 22) and will be featuring natural art exhibits put together by local groups on the festival theme of Memories and Dreams. This will include The Shoreditch Shoe Show, which everyone is welcome to help grow on the day - just bring along an old pair of shoes for their last journey, and add your memories to the piece.

The Flower Show is happening on Friday July 23rd, 11.30am - 3.00pm, at St Mary's Garden, on the corner of Pearson Street & Appleby Street, London E2. We're providing upbeat and bongly music to help the day whizz by. So don your hot pants & knotted hankies, grab a glass of something fizzy and come along.

- admission free. From 11.30am till 3pm

On the 23rd July we added a musical dimension to the Thrive Flower Show. It was wonderful, and we've had some great comments, including this:

"In the middle of a lovely summer's day, binglybongly music reached out and gathered people together around them, moving, dancing and relaxing. It was a revelation to see how such well-chosen music can communicate to people and its holistic and therapeutic effect - so much more so than I had previously realised."

Thanks to everyone at St Mary's Garden.
