Ah, there's nothing like an English summer. So, we're trying to coax the sun out again with some binglybongly events in the coming weeks. Of course it goes without saying that we'd love you to come along too...

We're looking forward to our third night at the Foundry this Thursday, but the trusty binglybongly calendar says that England play the Portugese in the quarter finals of Euro 2004 on the same night. Fear not though, we've got all sorts of music that'll make you want to leap up on the manager's dugout and cry: "Can we have our ball back please, madam?".

It's 5 minutes walk from Old Street tube station (exit 3) in the Shoreditch direction, at the junction of Great Eastern Street and Old Street, you can't miss it.

"the good, the bad, and the bongly" at the Foundry on Thursday 24 June 2004:
-   There could be an enigmatic pianist tinkling tunelessly on a baby grand to no-one in particular or there could be Kirsty, Tomasz and Fang conjuring up a swirling fusion of funky beats and visuals - all within the intriguing setting of the Foundry.

There's an outside bit with tables and chairs where you could either tan your bits or catch pneumonia to the binglybongly beat.

-   It's not only free to get in, but it's not too expensive to get out again ;-). From 7pm till 11pm (Over 18s only)

Thrive Flower Show at St Mary's Garden on Friday 23 July 2004:
-   Thrive is a national charity which uses gardening and horticulture to promote physical and mental well-being. Its Hackney project, St Mary's garden, is a tranquil green space in Shoreditch used by a wide cross section of the local community (and a lot of wildlife!).

Once a year, Thrive's users get together with other similar projects to display flowers and produce that they've grown in a celebration of their work. More than just a flower show, this is a day for everyoneÉ music, food, massage.. And entrance is free.

This year, the show is a part of the Shoreditch Festival (July 23 till August 22) and will be featuring natural art exhibits put together by local groups on the festival theme of Memories and Dreams. This will include The Shoreditch Shoe Show, which everyone is welcome to help grow on the day Ð just bring along an old pair of shoes for their last journey, and add your memories to the piece.

The Flower Show is happening on Friday July 23rd, 11.30am - 3.00pm, at St Mary's Garden, on the corner of Pearson Street & Appleby Street, London E2. We're providing upbeat and bongly music to help the day whizz by. So don your hot pants & knotted hankies, grab a glass of something fizzy and come along.

-   admission free. From 11am till 3pm

"upbeat & bongly" at Zigfrid on Wednesday 28 July 2004:
-   Zigfrid is a popular bar nicely placed on one corner of Hoxton Square and it's our inaugural Wednesday there. So come along and strut your funky stuff inside or drink a Malibu & Pineapple on the terrace outside. "A rather ugly name for a gorgeous new space." says Timeout. Ooer.
-   It's completely free to get in, but the management reserves the right to refuse exit ;-). From 7pm till 12pm (Over 18s only)

and lastly...
-   First Date

Going on a first date? Before you leave the house, give your immune system a boost by eating lots of raw garlic.

(from the Little Book of Complete B*ll*cks by Alistair Beaton.)

-   Don't forget, you can keep up to date at http://www.binglybongly.net.

That's it for now. All the best from everybody at binglybongly mansions.
